What is Draping on a Dress Form?

 

Draping is the art of manipulating fabric directly on the dress form or body to make sewing patterns.  You can either drape fabric directly onto the dress form or have a fitting buddy drape patterns directly onto your body.

The art of draping can be learned easily with the use of either fabric or tissue draping from sewing patterns like Vogue Patterns, McCall's, Butterick. Simplicity or other Independent Pattern Companies. Click on any of the lesson pictures below to see more!
